Sports:

  • Sports are an integral part of life at school. We take pride in inculcating the finest values of dedication, integrity and team-spirit in our students.
  • Cadets are encouraged to compete with each other by way of inter-house competitions. An academic year is typically infused with several sporting championships.
  • Besides permanent physical education staff, specialist coaches are available year round for students to focus on a single sport, such as football and volleyball. Hockey, football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis are on offer alongside athletics and yoga.

Sainik School started life as Welham Preparatory School way back in 1937,when Ms. Oliphant invested her humble capital and started the School in a rented building, which she called White House. Later, she rented another building Bethany that today is our dining hall.
